WICHITA, Kansas — The Twin Peaks restaurant on 21st Street in East Wichita has been closed for the day, according to a sign on the door.
Federal investigators have confirmed there is an ongoing investigation into the business. According to sources with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Kansas, the investigation involves both Twin Peaks Wichita locations.
The U.S. Attorney’s office, responding to a KSN request, reported that “Agents of Homeland Security Investigations served search warrants today at the restaurants as part of an ongoing investigation.”
The statement went on to say that the agents did not tell the restaurant to close.
KSN reached out several times to the restaurant’s owner. Calls were not returned. The same person owns both restaurants. The west side location was open Wednesday and seemed to be business as usual. A manager at the west side location says the owner would not talk about the investigation until he consults his attorney.
A federal investigator tells KSN news this is not a widespread or nationwide investigation– only these Twin Peaks restaurants in Wichita are the target of Wednesday’s search warrants
