Two killed in crash in Clay County

CLAY COUNTY, Kan. – Two people were killed Thursday in a one-vehicle crash in Clay County Thursday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 1994 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on US Highway 24 when it left the roadway and entered the south ditch.  KHP says the SUV then returned to the roadway then once again went into the south ditch where were it rolled several times and landed upright.

The Highway Patrol says the driver, 61-year-old Eldon Hartley of Miltonvale, was died in the crash.  Also killed was 30-year-old Kattie Hartley of Milton.

Two passengers, a 69-year-old woman and a 3 year-old boy were injured in the crash.
