Victim in southeast Wichita motorcycle accident identified

WICHITA, Kansas – One man is dead following a motorcycle accident in the 3000 block of S. Clifton. The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. Sunday night.

According to Sgt. Brian Hightower with the Wichita Police Department, a 25-year-old man died on scene.  He has been identified as 25-year-old James Kirk.

Police say the driver of the Sedan tried to pass a parked car in his lane. Kirk swerved into a skid trying to avoid the Sedan.

The victim fell off his motorcycle and was ran over by the car. At this time, police do not believe the driver was under the influence. The driver of the car wasn’t injured.
