SALINA, Kansas – Salina police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for attaching a device used to steal personal information on drive up bank cash machines.
On Thursday of last week, devices known as “skimmers” were found at drive up ATMs at two Sunflower Bank locations; 2450 S. 9th and 2070 S. Ohio. Both had the skimmer devices affixed to the ATM’s card slot.
Investigators believe that the case is connected to one in Wichita, where similar theft devices were found on a Sunflower Bank ATM there.
Police in Salina on Monday released two images captured on a bank security camera of a person placing the skimmer in the ATM at the back location on South Ohio Street.
