DELAND Fla. – A DeLand, Florida woman celebrating with friends at a cafe on July 4 felt something strike her leg.
Days later she learned it was a bullet.
Heather Charlebois felt something hit her leg and she had a visible injury, but she thought she was hit by fireworks until Wednesday when she went to the hospital for treatment.
Doctors found a .38-caliber bullet lodged four centimeters deep in her thigh, and so close to the femoral artery that they wouldn’t remove it.
“It’s just crazy, you know? It’s kind of surreal and cool and not cool, and it made me mad and it made me laugh,” Charlebois said.
