MANHATTAN, Kansas – In men’s college basketball, K-State coach Bruce Weber announced Tuesday that Austin Budke (former Hutchinson C.C. player), Pierson McAtee (Manhattan, KS), and Zach Winter (Andover Central grad/Hutch C.C. alum) have joined K-State as walk-ons.

Budke and Winter spent the last two seasons at Hutch, where they helped lead the Blue Dragons to a 55-14 combined record from 2013-’15. Their last season with the team resulted in a 29-6 record, including a Region VI Championship and the No. 6 seed in the NJCAA National Tournament.

During high school, Winter was a three-year lettermen at Andover Central. He led the school to a 17-5 record as a senior. He was named Second Team Class 5A All-State by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

The three walk-ons will be among 10 new players for the Wildcats in 2015-’16.
