South Africa native Dawie van der Walt tops Air Capital Leaderboard on Day 2

WICHITA, Kansas – Surpassing Seamus Power, Dawie van der Walt moved into the lead on Friday at the Air Capital Classic at Crestview Country Club. He shot a 67 today, moving him to nine under. Update ahead on KSN sports at 6:00 p.m.

According to his official website, Dawie turned pro in 2007, and has racked up many top 20 finishes. He played on the Sunshine Tour and US mini-tours. Between 2008 and 2011 he took first in four mini-tour events. He also won the Sunshine Tour order of merit in 2013. Van Der Walt currently plays on the Web.com, Sunshine and European Tour where his best finish was 1st at the 2013 Tshwane Open and 1st at the Nelson Mandela Championship earning him a European Tour exemption until the end of 2015. Beyond that, he finished 2nd at the 2012 Cox Classic and the 2013 Brasil Classic.
