WICHITA, Kan. – A 29-year-old man was taken into custody early Sunday morning for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping his girlfriend.
Wichita police say about 3:00 a.m. a 29-year-old woman reported her boyfriend pulled his truck up along side her as she was walking in the 2100 block of S. Main St., pointed a handgun at her, and forced her to get inside his truck.
After driving the woman around for a short time, she was able to get out of the truck and run for help.
Police say the suspect was located driving on S. Broadway and taken into custody.
The man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, criminal threats and possession of a firearm by a felon.
He was booked into the Sedgwick County jail.
The woman was not injured.
