WICHITA, Kan. – South Seneca Street near 63rd Street South was temporarily closed to traffic Sunday afternoon while firefighters battled a stubborn grass fire as well as the heat.
During the fire, South Seneca was closed in both directions at 63rd Street South by Sedgwick County sheriff’s Deputies and Haysville police officers. The street was later reopened to traffic.
Fire officials said there were no reports of injuries or property damage during the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown. It was reported out at about 2:40 p.m.
