Woman dies in motorcycle crash in northeast Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a 45-year-old woman was killed when a car collided with a motorcycle. It happened Monday night at the intersection of 21st and Oliver at 9:30 p.m.

According to Wichita police, a motorcycle was heading northbound on Oliver and it collided with a car that was traveling southbound. Police say it appears both were trying to make turns when the collision happened, and the car turned in front of the motorcycle.

“Right now, we have one person that is deceased. That is the rider of the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Wesley Medical Center in serious but stable condition,” said Sgt. Leny Rose, Wichita Police Department.

Police say the man suffered critical injuries. Both were not wearing helmets.

Police say the driver and passengers of the car are in their late teens. They were not injured.

Police are still investigating. They say alcohol and speed are not factors in the crash.
