Wichita man sentenced for distributing child porn

WICHITA, Kansas – A Wichita man was sentenced Friday to 130 months in federal prison for distributing child pornography.

In a news release, U.S. Attorney for the District of Kansas Barry Grissom said Earnest Bland, 50, Wichita, pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography. In his plea, Grissom said Bland he admitted that in May 2014 he used a computer to access a peer-to-peer file sharing network.

The release says Bland shared images of child pornography that were available to other users on the Internet. Some of the child victims in the photos were under 10 years of age. A detective with the Wichita Police Department Force downloaded the files from Bland’s computer.

Grissom said the Wichita Police Department, the Kansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations assisted in the case.
