The first weekend of the Wichita Riverfest is full of activities.

Riverfest Softball Tournament

Riverfest Soccer Tournament

Johnsonville Big Taste Grill
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: Douglas Ave.
The massive grill on wheels turns out 2,500 brats an hour!

Kansas Army National Guard
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Test your strength, stamina and skills!

Bike Douglas Tours: Architecture
11 a.m. – noon
Location: Bike Valet @ Ackerman’s Backyard
Grab your camera and join this leisurely ride!

Fancyfoam Indoor Fly-In
11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: Exhibition Hall, Century II
An indoor flying show with aerobatics, lights, combat and more!

Riverfest Horseshoes
11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: RedGuard Stage
Open play at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. NHPA Sanctioned doubles 12 – 8 p.m. Open play/instruction 8 – 9 p.m.

Toy Train Display
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Cox Kids Corner
Fun for train fans of all ages.

Check Out Your Library
11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Location: Central Library West Lawn
Check out what Wichita Public Library has to offer! Sign up children for summer reading programs, update or create a library account, participate in fun activities and earn opportunities to win prizes.

World Record Attempt: Longest Line of Bicycles
Noon to 1 p.m.
Location: RedGuard Stage
We almost made it last year, but we can win this year! Pedal down to the WaterWalk Pavilion and be one of the 1200 bike riders needed to break the current world record (1148).

Playfest at Riverfest: It Plays to Read!
1–4 p.m.
Location: Central Library West Lawn
Take a storywalk, create sidewalk art, take a selfie on the picture wall, create bubbles and more! For children ages 3-13 and their families.

Wet Your Pallet Raft Race
2-3 p.m.
Location: Douglas Street Bridge
Raft races are back, but with a twist! Teams build a raft with recyclable materials and then float their way to a win! Rafters compete in 3 different categories for cash and other prizes. See WichitaRiverfest.com for details.

Dodgeball
2-4 p.m
Location: RedGuard Stage
Six-member teams participate in double-elimination rounds by age group. Register online at WichitaRiverfest.com. Partial proceeds benefit YoungLife.

McGavock Jet Ski Races: IJSBA Mid-America Watercross Championships
3-9 p.m.
Location: Arkansas River North of the Maple Street Bridge
Head to the Arkansas River with your blanket and sunscreen to watch rounds one and two of the IJSBA Mid-America Watercross Championships. Racers from across the nation will be challenged by the most difficult course in this year’s series.

Hoop Art
3-10 p.m.
Location: Ackerman’s Backyard
Stop by and hula hoop your way to a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.
