HAYSVILLE, Kansas – Two teens riding their bicycles south of Haysville Saturday evening are recovering today from a hit-and-run crash.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened about 11:45 PM Saturday night in the 7800 block of S. Meridian, south of Haysville. Witnesses called 9-1-1 to report the crash.

Sheriff’s officials say the vehicle that hit the cyclists ran from the scene.

Deputies spent the overnight hours searching for the vehicle, a white 4-door Toyota Tacoma pickup that possibly has damage to its right front fender and the right side of the hood.

Both victims, reportedly in their upper teens, were taken to a nearby hospital. At least one of them sustained serious injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information about the hit-and-run call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 with their anonymous tip.
