CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKYC) — Two Cleveland, Ohio police officers say they’re not heroes, despite the fact they pulled a 26-year-old man from a burning car.
The incident happened early Thursday morning.
Officers David Kelley and Brian Crites had just passed a yellow Mazda, when they turned around and saw the car had crashed and burst into flames.
Officer Crites could be heard over dispatch saying, “Step up fire… step up fire… we got a car fire!”
Officer Kelley said the flames were almost as high as the bridge.
“When I got up to the door, I didn’t see anybody,” he recalled, “so I grabbed it and started shaking it and he just leaned his head out and I could see a split down his forehead and he said help me.”
