WICHITA, Kansas – Lindsey Nicole Blansett has been found competent to stand trial.

She told a 911 operator she stabbed her son Caleb on December 14th, 2014.

On Thursday, a judge ruled she is mentally competent to stand trial for first-degree murder. KSN News has also learned that the district attorney has added an aggravated assault with a knife charge because, according to the DA, Nicole Blansett stabbed her son more than once even after he cried out for his mother to stop.

A formal arraignment is set for May 28th at 1:30 p.m.
