WICHITA, Kansas – Fueled in part by seven and two-thirds shutout innings from pitcher Chase Williams, the Wichita State baseball team blew out Evansville 10-0 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep.
In one of the best starts of his career, Williams shut down the Aces, only allowing six hits, while striking out six.
At the plate, WSU was led by Mikel Mucha (3-for-4 with three RBIs) and Bob Arens (2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs).
WSU sent ten batters to the plate in the seventh inning, resulting in five runs scored en route to an 8-0 lead. They added two more runs in the bottom of the eighth, making it 10-0 to put the run-rule into effect.
Wichita State returns to action on Tuesday night, hosting Oral Roberts at 6:30 p.m.
