WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a 2-year-old girl with a cigarette burn to her face was removed from a home Sunday night. It happened in the 500 block of North Emporia around 7:45 p.m.
According to police, they found the little girl with a cigarette burn to her face and bruising on her legs.
A caller called 911 to report the incident. Police went to the home and talked with her 18-year-old mother and her 28-year-old boyfriend. Both told police she ran into the cigarette. Police say that there was no food in the fridge, and the home had insects.
So far, no arrests have been made. Police are still investigating. The little girl was taken into protective police custody.
