SUV drives into pond in northwest Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police responded to a vehicle submersion early Tuesday morning. It happened just after 6:30 a.m. near 13th Street North and Windmill Road.

According to the Wichita Police Department, a 43-year-old woman in a white SUV drove into a neighborhood pond in the 6600 block of West Briarwood Circle.

“Officers responded and are in the process of determining what the cause was of the vehicle to drive into the pond.  It went to the end of the cul-de-sac and into the pond,” said Sgt. Dan Binkley, Wichita Police Department.

Emergency crews helped the woman out the SUV.  The woman wasn’t injured.
