SALINA, Kansas – A high-speed chase along I-70 ended near Salina Tuesday afternoon.
Trooper Ben Gardner from the Kansas Highway Patrol told KSAL News that it started at around 1:30, when a trooper attempted a traffic stop about 9 miles west of Salina on a black passenger car.
Several other law enforcement agencies and officers joined in the chase as it approached Salina.
Several times, officers unsuccessfully deployed stop sticks in an attempt to disable the car, including several attempts near the junction of I-70 and I-135. Each time the car was able to avoid the road spikes.
Troopers were able to disable the car near the 9th Street exit north of Salina.
