4 injured in head-on crash in Sumner County

SUMNER COUNTY, Kansas – Four people were injured in a head-on crash Monday in Sumner County. The crash happened around 2 p.m. about a mile west of Oxford on Highway 160.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1999 Jeep Cherokee was eastbound on Highway 160, and a 2000 Chevy Classic and 2000 Dodge Stratus were westbound.

Officials say the Jeep tried to pass slower traffic and struck the 2000 Chevy Classic head-on. The Dodge Stratus then struck the Chevy.

Four people received injuries in the crash. Those injured were 58-year-old Catherine Wills of Mulvane, 57-year-old John Wills of Mulvane, 76-year-old Bobbie L. Treat of Winfield, and 28-year-old Samantha Fortner of Oxford. They were all transported to the hospital.
