SEDAN, Kansas – A Wichita man has been arrested in connection with a murder in Chautauqua County. The murder happened Sunday morning in the 400 block of North Chautauqua in Sedan.
Officers received a 911 call at the home. When they arrived, they found the victim. She has been identified as Nataly Castaneda.
Camilo A. Ovalle-Cruz, of Wichita was arrested in connection to the murder. He is facing charges of first-degree murder, possession of marijuana, and obstruction of official duty.
Ovalle-Cruz’s bond has been set at $2 million. His next court appearance is set for Friday, April 17 at 9 a.m. in Sedan where formal charges could be filed.
Officials with the Sedan Police Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the case.
