WICHITA, Kansas – A storm last Friday, April 3 in Wichita caused damage to several buildings in the Wichita School District.

Schools that received damage are Gammon, Stucky, Brooks, Mueller, Northeast Magnet, and Jackson. Most of the damage was a result of straight line wind that the storm produced.

Don D. Rutherford & Sons, Inc., has started the remediation and repairs. The overall cost is yet to be determined as not all locations have been assessed.

On Monday, the school board will decide whether to authorize $175,000 from the 47 fund to begin the repairs.
