Joshua Blick for USD 259

What issues will you make a top priority for Wichita Public Schools?

Balanced Budget
Student Safety
Student Accessibility to New Technology – – Increase S.T.E.M. Programs and build partnership within our local businesses and communities.

If additional budget cuts come from Topeka, how do you plan to address those cuts for Wichita schools? What areas/programs would be the first to be cut and what areas/programs would be most important to save?

“Decisions in any budget are sometimes very hard and/or challenging. The district need to build on existing business and community partnership. The board needs to look into cuts by outsourcing to local businesses, but at the same time maintain student safety, education and teaching jobs. Any decision to cut, needs to take in account of future generational needs and the impact.”

What specific one issue do you think deserves your immediate attention and how to you plan to address it?

“Partnership with Local Businesses and Communities: Partnerships and Resources within our local business could open opportunities to the district future. The success of our children depends on our decisions today. I believe that my success in this area could benefit our students and the budget. We need to look into public input within the school district through advisory boards and communication support.”
