Police arrest suspect after attempted bank robbery in southwest Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police arrested a suspect after an attempted robbery at a Fidelity Bank in southwest Wichita.

The attempted robbery happened at the Fidelity Bank near 31st South and Seneca around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say 31-year-old Tyler Watt-Dowell walked into the bank and handed the teller a note.

The teller began to ask questions, and the suspect left on foot. Witnesses pointed police to an apartment complex in the 900 block of West 29th Street South where he was arrested. No one was injured in the incident, and no money was stolen.

The suspect was apprehended for attempted robbery and also a parole violation.
