WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a woman was abducted in 800 block of South Pershing Monday evening.

Police say a 57-year-old woman and her 77-year-old friend went to talk to her son. The 57-year-old woman got out of the car.

“An unknown unidentified female jumped in the driver’s seat of her car and began to drive away with the 77 year old,” said Lt. James Espinoza, Wichita Police Department.

According to the 77-year-old woman, speeds reached 90 mph before coming to a stop in the 800 block of West Mentor.

The suspect and victim got into a brief fight over the victim’s purse.

“The 77-year-old did lose a coin purse that had $10 in it,” said Lt. Espinoza.

The suspect apparently made a comment in the car that she had been sexually assaulted and was trying to leave the area.

EMS transported the 77-year-old woman to Wesley with chest pains. Other people in the area had called in due to the erratic driving.
