Shockers last matchup with KU in the NCAA tournament was 1981

WICHITA, Kansas – This year’s Big Dance could prove to be an historic one for several Kansas schools.

If KU and Wichita State University both win their first round games, it will setup the first matchup between KU and WSU in more than 20 years.

Their last matchup was in 1993 when KU put a 103-54 beat down on the Shockers.

The last time KU and Wichita State met in the NCAA tourney was back in 1981 and Wichita State had the last laugh.

They beat the Jayhawks in a 66-65 in a thrilling, last second come from behind victory.
