HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — Brett Meyer scored 17 points to lead Scott Community to a 60-48 victory over Wichita Collegiate in the boys’ 3A state title game Saturday.
Scott Community (25-1) was also helped by Trey O’Neill who scored 14 points and Sloan Barker who accomplished a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Ten players scored for Wichita Collegiate, led by Austin Waddell, who scored 11 points in the tight contest.
The game tied three times in the third quarter, but once Scott Community gained a double-digit lead late in the third, it never lost it.
Wichita Collegiate entered the tournament as a five-seed and reached the championship game via upsets of fourth-ranked Hesston and top-ranked Sabetha.
