Chemical spill briefly closes Kellogg near Goddard

GODDARD, Kansas – Hazardous materials crews worked to clean up a spill near Kellogg and 183rd, near Goddard.

The spill was reported around 6:30 p.m. and traffic was congested throughout the evening. Dispatch said the spill has been cleaned up and Kellogg has reopened.

A container truck carrying herbicide had a leak which caused a spill on the eastbound lanes of Kellogg, near 183rd West.

Crews estimated 10-15 gallons of chemicals spilled. Officials said the chemical was not harmful to people.
