Two injured in motorcycle accident in Reno Co.

RENO COUNTY, Kansas – Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Reno County and air lifted to a Wichita hospital.

The accident happened near 101st and Peace Rd. around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Witnesses report that a 52 year old man and 52 year old woman, both from Claflin, were on a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed when it failed to make a turn.

The motorcycle hit the side of the shoulder, flipped end over end, and threw both passengers from the motorcycle onto a grass field.

The two were taken to the Hutchinson Region Medical Center, but were transferred to a Wichita hospital via medical helicopter.

The Reno County Sheriff’s Department reports that neither of the two were wearing a helmet.
