One man in custody after Bentley meth lab bust

BENTLEY, Kansas – Sedgwick County deputies responded to a home in the 200 block of S. York in Bentley after receiving a tip of a possible meth lab on Sunday.

According to Sgt. Benjamin Blick, responding officers found evidence consistent with a lab. They called in the Wichita Police Bomb Squad to help with the situation. The squad handled the clean-up.

Officials arrested 20-year-old Jake Anthony Mroczkowski. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on attempting to manufacture a controlled substance and criminal possession of explosives. Officials said they found a device on the scene that was thought to be a pipe bomb.

A neighbor on the northeast side of the home was asked to leave the area for a short time Sunday while officials cleared the home of possible dangerous substances.
