Caught on camera: Student struck

JOHNSTON, Rhode Island (WJAR) – A Johnston, Rhode Island teenager was hit by a car Thursday morning following a multi-car crash during slippery conditions in Cranston.

Taylor Pernini, 18, was trying to get out of the way of a careening vehicle, but was knocked to the ground.

The accident was captured on video by security cameras at a nearby auto body shop.

Other than being a little sore, Taylor was in good spirits at home Thursday night.

It all started when a few cars crashed on the icy and slippery hill. Then, a couple other vehicles got stuck.

Taylor said she was on her way to school at Cranston High School West when she and the other drivers got out of their cars.

Shortly after, another vehicle tried to stop but slid, coming toward them out of control.
