Woman arrested after pulling knife in ambulance

WICHITA, Kansas – Two EMS personnel were in for an unpleasant surprise when a woman they were transporting pulled a knife on them early Saturday morning.

Police report that EMS technicians were transporting a 55-year-old woman to the hospital on a medical run when she pulled out a large kitchen knife from her purse and pointed it at one of them.

Dispatch was immediately contacted by the ambulance and police met the them at the hospital.

Police took the woman into custody and booked her into jail on felony possession of a dangerous weapon and two counts of Aggravated Assault on the EMS technicians.

The EMS technicians and police did not know why the woman changed her attitude on the way to the hospital.
