KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine’s president says the freeing of soldiers who were held captive by rebels is under way.

Petro Poroshenko said on his Twitter account Saturday evening that he was informed the process had begun by the national security service.

“In the near time, 140 of our heroes will be free,” he wrote.

He didn’t specify where the release was taking place or how many captive rebels might be exchanged.
