HUTCHINSON, Kansas – A woman turned herself in after an argument that escalated into a car chase, and ended with the woman firing shots at a car, causing it to crash into a local business.
Officers with the Hutchinson Police Department were dispatched to Midas after a vehicle struck the building around 8:40 a.m. on Saturday.
Police interviewed the three occupants of the vehicle and found out that they were shot at by a woman who they encountered earlier.
The occupants reported they were at a Wal-Mart in Hutchinson and were confronted by a woman in the parking lot.
After a brief argument, the three left the parking lot and drove away. The woman followed them in her vehicle and repeatedly shot at them until they crashed the vehicle into the southwest side of Midas.
The woman, identified as 35-year-old Nicole Green, left the scene and later turned herself in at the Law Enforcement Center in Hutchinson. Officials say Green was arrested for three counts of attempted second degree murder and one count of criminal discharge of a firearm at a motor vehicle.
Police say Green is in the custody of the Reno County Sheriff on a $100,000 bail bond.
