MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner was in one of four cars involved in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu that killed a woman.

Sgt. Matt Dunn says the crash happened shortly after noon Saturday near Corral Canyon Road.

Jenner wasn’t hurt, but a Los Angeles County Fire Department supervisor says seven other people were injured.

Dunn says Jenner was an occupant of one of the vehicles. Jenner’s publicist, Alan Nierob, says Jenner was unhurt, but he offered no additional details.

The accident comes at a time of widespread speculation that Jenner is transitioning to become a woman. The 65-year-old, who’s well known as the patriarch of the Kardashian family, hasn’t publicly spoken about the transition, but his appearance has gradually become more traditionally feminine.
