Punches fly as Quad City topples Wichita Thunder 3-1

WICHITA, Kansas – Playing the second of four meetings over the next two weeks, Quad City knocked off the Wichita Thunder Friday night at INTRUST Bank Arena.

Fists flew in the first period as Wichita’s Erick Lizon engaged in a lengthy fight with Paxton Leroux.

Wichita’s Kenton Miller broke a scoreless tie in the second period to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. It wasn’t enough. Quad City came back to win by a final of 3-1.

Next up, Wichita takes the ice Saturday night for an ECHL showdown at Missouri at 7:05 p.m.
