Gordon Bassham steps down from Crime Stoppers of Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas – Gordon Bassham is stepping down from Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County and the Wichita Crime Commission.

He tells KSN it’s a friendly parting, and he’s very proud of the last four and a half years with the commission.

The Crime Commission thanks Mr. Bassham for his years of faithful service to the Crime Commission and the community and wishes him well in his future endeavors.

Bassham cites the merger of the crime commission and Crime Stoppers as a highlight of his tenure.

During his tenure he played a key role in the merger of the Wichita Crime Commission and Crime Stoppers. He also led the development of Gang Free Wichita and Domestic Violence Free Wichita. Gang Free Wichita directly led to the development of Gang Free Kansas. All of these projects and many others were extremely successful in promoting the Wichita Crime Commission and its mission in the community.

Bassham’s resignation takes effect immediately.
