WICHITA, Kansas – A Wichita police officer is recovering after being dragged by a suspect’s car Monday. Police say the officer was called to a disturbance in the 1600 block of South Old Manor about 6 p.m.

The officer found a 28-year-old suspect who had marijuana and told him to get out of his car. When the suspect refused, the officer tried to open the car door to get the suspect out.

That’s when police say the man took off in his car dragging the officer with him.

The police officer was not taken to the hospital, and the suspect was arrested after his parents brought him back to the scene.
