WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita officials say there is still time to send in your application for the City of Wichita rebate program that provides incentives for conserving water.
Devices purchased on or before Dec. 31 2014 are eligible for the rebate. Applications must be postmarked within 90 days of device purchase. The program was approved by the City Council on June 10, 2014 and applications have been accepted since July 1, 2014.
To date, the City has approved 2,685 applications resulting in $285,223 in rebates given back to the community. Remaining funding is approximately $164,777. So far, the rebates have included 731 washing machines, 737 dishwashers, 928 toilets, 10 smart irrigation controllers, 12 dual flush kits, 37 rain sensors, and 230 rain barrels.
Eight devices and appliances are eligible for rebates. Detailed lists of qualifying items are available at www.wichita.gov and www.savewichitawater.com. There is a limit of five rebated items per water customer. Rebates will not exceed the purchase price.
