WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police arrested a man accused in a shooting outside of a bar called The Place on Saturday.

He has been identified as Ishamael J. Bryant according to police arrest records. Records show Bryant was arrested Monday on two counts of murder in the second degree, aggravated battery, and for being in possession of a firearm. Bryant had a prior arrest record as shown below.  Bryant was located at a home in the 800 block of Grove Street.

Authorities say 28-year-old Andrew Smith and 32-year-old Quentin Brown died in the shooting Saturday.

Police say two other people were wounded. A 25-year-old was released from a hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. Officials say a 36-year-old man is in serious condition after being shot in the stomach.

Lt. Todd Ojile says an argument preceded the shooting between three individuals. He says the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot Brown and the 36-year-old, who were both arguing with him.

Ojile says the shooter fired more shots, hitting Smith and the 25-year-old man.

The Wichita Police Department plans to present their case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
