Power outage affecting west Wichita residents

WICHITA, Kansas – Over 1,000 homes were without power Sunday afternoon after a reported outage near Central and Ridge.

Several other houses have reported an outage one mile north, near the Sedgwick County zoo.

As of 3:30 p.m., 1,005 households are without power. The number was around 1,850 an hour earlier.

As of 5:20 p.m., over 800 households are without power.

KSN reached out to Westar about the cause of the power outage, but they have not been able to determine the cause of the power yet.

According to Westar’s power outage map, the outage is expected to be fixed by 7:30 p.m.
