SALINE COUNTY, Kansas – The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating a multi-vehicle crash with two fatalities on K-140.

It happened just after 8 a.m. near Bavaria which is southwest of Salina.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 2006 Ford Taurus and 2006 Nissan Murano were eastbound on K-140. A 2005 Ford F150 was heading westbound. The patrol says for some unknown reason the 2006 Ford Taurus crossed the center line.

The patrol says the Taurus and F150 made contact.  It caused the Taurus to slide backwards toward the eastbound lane and the south ditch. The Nissan then struck the Taurus. All vehicles ended up in the south ditch.

The driver and passenger of the Taurus, identified as 20-year-old Andrew Loren Wolf of Ellsworth and 24-year-old Joshua Bruce Gepner of McPherson, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 40-year-old driver of the Nissan was transported to Salina Regional Hospital.

The 34-year-old driver of the Ford F150 and his 7-year-old passenger were not injured.

K-140 was closed for nearly five hours as crews investigated the crash.
