Report: Royals add Volquez to starting pitching staff

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – According to MLB Daily Dish, the Kansas City Royals have signed starting pitcher Edinson Volquez. He’s set to make $20 million over the next two seasons with K.C.

Sporting a 5.71 ERA, Volquez was released by the San Diego Padres 16 months ago, but had a pretty good bounce-back season in Pittsburgh in 2014. He went 13-7 with a 3.04 ERA with the Pirates.

The 31-year old will be in the starting rotation with Yordano Ventura, Danny Duffy, Jason Vargas and Jeremy Guthrie.
