Protests planned at downtown intersection

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police are preparing for another protest, this time in the downtown area.

The protest is expected to be similar to this one that took place last Friday near Wichita State. Protesters are asking for an end to police violence.

Thursday’s protest starts at 6 p.m. at Douglas and Broadway and could affect rush hour.

“We applaud peaceful protests, you want to come down, protest but when they try to interfere with traffic flows and commit city ordinance violations and state law violations, they’ll be arrested,” warned Lt. James Espinoza.
