Police: Elderly woman attacked with her walker

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a 78-year-old woman was attacked with her walker while trying to leave her apartment. It happened in the 2500 block of West 32nd when a 28-year-old man entered her home when she was trying to leave.

The suspect pushed her down and hit her with her walker. He ransacked her apartment. The woman got a neighbor to call 911.

Police say the suspect had fallen asleep in the victim’s apartment. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, battery and being under the influence of alcohol. The victim was transported to the hospital with a fracture to her left shoulder.

Nothing appeared to be missing from the woman’s home.
