WICHITA, Kansas – An accident forced police to close east and westbound lanes of Kellogg at the Mid-Continent Airport exit for about one and a half hours late Thursday night.

A semi was headed south on Mid-Continent Road and turned to go east on the access road when the truck went over a guard rail.

The cab of the truck was left dangling over the ledge and began leaking diesel fuel.

The driver was able to crawl out the passenger side of the cab. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The fire department and hazmat crews responded to the scene to help with the diesel leak.

KDOT also arrived to put up barricades by the damaged guard rail. Police say crews will begin fixing the guard rail Friday morning.

Kellogg reopened to traffic just before midnight Thursday.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the accident to call them with information.
