Gas station near McConnell AFB damaged in overnight drive-by

WICHITA, Kansas – Police report that several shots were fired near a QuikTrip in southeast Wichita, with several shots hitting the establishment.

Sgt. Ed Brower said that the incident was reported around 3:25 a.m. Sunday morning near the QuikTrip at Pawnee and Rock.

A witness called police saying that they heard 7 gunshots fired towards the QuikTrip. Another witness said that they saw a dark-colored SUV driving northbound away from the gas station, presumed to be the suspects’ vehicle.

One of the bullets struck the entrance to QuikTrip, shattering the glass. A bullet fragment was found on the inside of the store. A gas pump and sign were also damaged from the gunfire.

No injuries were reported, and no additional description has been given of the suspects other than the color of the SUV. If you have any information about this case, please contact Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
