Two arrested after northeast Wichita standoff

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police arrested two people after a standoff early Tuesday morning in northeast Wichita.

It started about 11:30 p.m. Monday night near the intersection of 13th and Roosevelt in northeast Wichita after someone reported several shots were fired.

“Officers, when they came out, did not find anything. They left. About an hour and half later, more shots were fired. This time they saw someone they thought had a gun. Officers surrounded the house,” said Capt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

Police called the SWAT team. At about 6 a.m., the two suspects inside the home surrendered. They had warrants.

There were no injuries reported.
