Man robs northwest Wichita Dillons in broad daylight

WICHITA, Kansas – Sgt. John Hoofer with the Wichita Police Department reported that a man robbed a Dillons on 13th and West before 6 p.m. on Friday.

A 21-year-old cashier reported that a 30 to 40-year-old white male came in and told the clerk that this was a robbery. The suspect demanded money and received an undisclosed amount of cash from the clerk. The cashier did not see if the suspect had a weapon.

The suspect has been described as 5’11”, around 225lbs, wearing a black Oregon Ducks hat, a zip up jacket, khaki pants, and brown shoes. Police did not say if there was video surveillance of the crime.

Hoofer said that in situations like these, the FBI is called to help with the investigation.

No injuries were reported, and officials have not confirmed the identity of the suspect.
