WICHITA, Kansas – A construction worker was hurt in a morning construction accident Tuesday at Mid-Continent Airport.
According to airport officials, the worker was hurt when a 30-foot long steel beam fell on him around 8:00 a.m.
The accident took place at the site where a new parking garage is being built.
Airport Fire and Police responded to the 911 call and arrived to find that the man had been removed from underneath the beam with the help of coworkers and a forklift.
The man was transported by Sedgwick County EMS to Via-Christi St. Francis hospital with critical injuries.
